Goran is the champion of the rebirth, of a Caputo Trophy that is back in the news after two years of the pandemic.
And having a chat with him you realize that, for this edition, there couldn't be a more symbolic champion.
Goran comes from Belgrade and became a pizza chef during the war.
In fact, his family of origin ran a restaurant in the Serbian capital before the conflict and it was there that our champion developed his passion for gastronomy.
During the war, however, he had to suspend all activities and fled to South Africa where he found work in a pizzeria.
Once the conflict was over, Goran returned to his homeland and decided to study white art, becoming more and more passionate about it.
Today Goran Abramovic has two places in Belgrade: Petra, a successful pizzeria and a restaurant: Al Forno Sumatovac.
What will his future be like?
The World Champion finds it hard to imagine it because after several editions of the Trophy in which he participated, like the one in 2018, he didn't expect to win at all.
He tells us to imagine next year traveling to tell the world about the uniqueness of Neapolitan pizza and to continue to promote the excellence of Caputo flour as he has already done in his homeland since 2019.
Then he tells us about an even more distant future in which perhaps he will follow his daughter Bojana who is now 15 years old and studying, but who is already passionate and talented when it comes to pizza.
And who knows, in a few years we won't see her on the podium too.
